Mouth Guards

Mouthguards should be worn by anyone, both children and adults who play contact sports such as boxing, hockey and rugby. However even those participating in other sports such as mountain biking and skateboarding would benefit from the protection of a guard.

It is important to remember that children's mouths change shape rapidly so please ensure that you check the fit of your mouthguard regularly to make sure that it fits properly, as an ill fitting guard is unlikely to provide the necessary protection.

Custom made mouthguards fit more snugly and so give more protection than those bought over the counter.

Tooth grinding or bruxism can cause tooth wear and breakage, headaches, pain and limited movement of the jaw, a nightguard provided a physical barrier between your upper and lower teeth helping to protect them from further damage and to reduce the habit.
