If you have lost a tooth a bridge is an alternative to having a gap or a partial denture. It is made by putting crowns over the teeth on either side of the space and then joining these two crowns together by placing a false tooth in the space. This is cemented into place so that there is no need to remove it.

Another option is an adhesive bridge which has metal wings bonded to the back of the supporting teeth. This involves very little drilling and so conserves as much tooth as possible.
